Our Service Area

Humboldt General Hospital Emergency Medical Services and Rescue has a first response area of over 10,000 square miles. The HGH/EMS and Rescue has mutual aid agreements with three neighboring ambulance companies and multiple mine rescue teams. HGH EMS Rescue provides assistance to the Winnemucca Police Department, Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, Perishing County Sheriff's Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol, assisting all of them with EMS, rescue, and high risk standbys. HGH EMS Rescue provides all the EMS and rescue communication coordination to Humboldt County, parts of Pershing County, parts of Lander County, and a lower portion of the State of Oregon. HGH EMS Rescue staff currently respond to all mutual aid requests and coordinates communication efforts between the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and other emergency response agencies. HGH EMS Rescue is the only Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) provider east of Fernley. Additionally, HGH EMS Rescue also provides full rescue to four bordering agencies, and is the only agency in this district capable of providing ALS services. HGH EMS Rescue is dedicated to providing resources and equipment, at any level necessary, to protect jurisdictions in the local and regional areas it serves. The policy of HGH EMS Rescue has always been to respond with whatever aid is necessary to provide assistance.
