Hospital Promotes Two to Position of 'Administrative Director'

Humboldt General Hospital has seen some management changes recently.

Two of the facility's supervisors have been promoted to the position of "Administrative Director," positions which report directly to CEO/Administrator Jim Parrish.

HGH Director of EMS Pat Songer and HGH Radiology Manager Pamela Wickkiser began their new duties July 12.

In addition to EMS, Songer will now be administratively responsible for the Wellness, Cardiac Rehab, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Maintenance and Security departments.

In addition to Radiology, Wickkiser will now add Nuclear Medicine, Patient Access, Dietary, Nutrition Services, Housekeeping and Laundry to her administrative duties.

"Pat and Pam are both proven leaders in our organization," said Parrish, "and we offer them a hearty congratulations and best wishes in their new positions."

Wickkiser said the promotion came as a big surprise to her, but she also felt gratified that the efforts she has made over the past six years at HGH have been positively received.

"I am really grateful for this recognition," she added. "The hospital is my greatest focus and I will continue to do what I can to help move this organization forward."

Songer, who has been at HGH for eight years, said he was also surprised and pleased with the opportunity to extend his service to other areas of the hospital.

"Over my years at HGH, our hospital team has been able to progress and grow and reach new levels of patient care," he said.

"I believe my new duties will simply allow me to continue that process—to help HGH continue to become a model for excellence in rural health care."
