Local Veterans, Families Invited to Special Luncheon at HGH

Members of Humboldt General Hospital’s Employee Committee have issued a special lunch invitation to community veterans and their families.

HGHEC President Michel Carden said the luncheon, scheduled for Friday, November 10, is meant to thank veterans for their special and sacred service on behalf of all citizens—including those in Humboldt County.

“These people are our heroes,” said Carden, “and as a committee, we wanted to do something special to not only recognize them, but also to honor the sacrifice their families have made in supporting them in their service.”

The luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hospital’s Sarah Winnemucca Conference Room. Veterans and their family members may stop by for lunch anytime during the two-hour time period. There is absolutely no charge to attend and Carden promises the food will be delicious!

The Humboldt General Hospital Employee Committee is comprised of HGH staff members who donate their time to raise money throughout the year for special staff events including an end-of-year celebration where the HGH “Employee of the Year,” “EMT of the Year” and “Supervisor of the Year” are named.

Additionally, the group oversees an Employee Giving Program where staff donations are matched by Humboldt General Hospital and distributed to worthy nonprofit organizations in the community.

In addition to Carden, this year’s officers include Vice President Jayme Gabiola, Treasurer Rick McComb and Secretary Ashley Stephen.

For more information regarding the November 10 Veterans Day Luncheon sponsored by the HGH Employee Committee, please call HGHEC President Michel Carden at (775) 623-5222, ext. 1426.
