School Safety

On Monday, January 28, HGH EMS Rescue participated in a "table top" discussion at McDermitt Combined School, which focused on student safety. Others in attendance included the Winnemucca Police Department, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Nevada Division of Investigation, the Nevada Highway Patrol and the Humboldt County School District. In addition to reviewing a fictitious scenario, the group conducted a walk-through of the school, looking for ways to enhance security. Humboldt County School District Superintendent Dave Jensen said, "We appreciate the tremendous support shown for our students and look forward to ongoing discussions that will be held at various schools in the upcoming months." Thanks to EMS for doing their part to enhance student safety in our schools.
