Our High-Heeled Men

On Friday April 25, HGH EMS Rescue took part in the "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes" event. And yes, our paramedics and EMTs showed up in their "best" high heels to take a stand against violence and sexual assault against women and girls. The “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” campaign originated in Canada and is organized by White Ribbon. Starting in 1991, the organization asked men to pledge to never engage in, participate in, or remain silent about violence against women and girls. Now, once a year, men across the world don their heels as a way to create that new vision of masculinity. Deputy Chief of Medical Operations Jared Oscarson said the group thought it was a great event with a lot of community support. "We look forward to participating next year," he said. We're proud of these guys. We're even proud they could walk in those heels. And the sport socks were certainly a bonus!!
