Volunteers and auxiliary

You are invited to join one of Humboldt County's longest-standing and most respected volunteer organizations. The Humboldt Hospital Auxiliary, whose members are known by their pink jackets, serve as the fundraising arm of Humboldt General Hospital.

Since the Auxiliary's inception in 1969, members have donated over $4 million to HGH—money that has purchased everything from hospital beds to surgical equipment to a blanket warmer for the hospital's long-term care facility, Harmony Manor.

The Auxiliary provides scholarships to individuals pursuing a career in nursing. Each year they award scholarships totaling $40,000. Click here for the scholarship application.

Volunteers are needed—both men and women—to work at the group's main funding source, the Poke N Peek Thrift Shop, where members sort, price, display, and sell clothing, toys, books, and household items. Volunteers also are needed to help out at Harmony Manor, the hospital's skilled nursing facility, and within the hospital itself.

If you are interested in joining the Auxiliary, please call Susan Harrer at 775.761.4314 for more information.
