Congratulations to Dr. Granath

Dr. Brad Granath was surprised recently by some good news he received in the mail. The letter from the Nevada Academy of Family Physicians announced he had been selected as the Rural Nevada "Family Physician of the Year" for 2012. Dr. Granath was hosted at an awards banquet at the Rapscallion Seafood House in Reno on October 30, 2012. Dr. Granath's wife, Robin, was able to attend with him as he received this very prestigious honor. The Nevada Academy of Family Physicians has some very specific nominating criteria for this award. The nominee has to provide compassionate comprehensive and caring family medicine on a continuing basis; has to be directly and effectively involved in community affairs and activities that enhance the quality of the community; has to be a credible role model professionally and personally to the community, other health professionals, residents and med students; has to be able to effectively represent the specialty of Family Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP); and has to be in good standing with the community and a member of the AAFP. Dr. Granath sure fits the bill on all counts. We are excited that he is being recognized by his colleagues; we also want to recognize him for his great contributions to HGH over the past seven years. Congratulations!
