Time for Flu Vaccinations

It’s that time of year again…INFLUENZA SEASON. All HGH employees are strongly encouraged to receive their flu vaccination; the hospital’s goal is a 90 percent or better vaccination rate. Employee flu vaccination will start on October 1, 2013 and will continue through the end of April 2014. HGH Pharmacist Robert Hall will be doing employee flu shots from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the pharmacy from October 5-9. On Tuesday, October 8, an employee/family flu shot clinic will be held in the Sarah Winnemucca room. Michele Carden, RN, will give the vaccinations. HGH Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse Ginger Tanner will be available in her office on Acute for flu shots from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday during the month of October. She and HGH Wellness Coordinator Louis Mendiola will also be holding flu clinics for night shift on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 1-17 in the Sarah Winnemucca room, side A. If employees need their immediate family members to receive the flu shot, please come on Tuesdays or Thursdays at the 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. flu clinics held in the Sarah Winnemucca. Thank you, and we hope to see each of you this season for your vaccination. Not only do we need to protect ourselves and our patients from the flu, but we need to lead out in setting a great example for our community.
