Thanks, Craig and Duane

The following was an email from Harmony Manor Skilled Nursing Facility Nurse Manager Robin Gillis to HGH's two wonderful maintenance professionals, Craig Prest and Duane Grannis. Kudos to Robin for writing it, and kudos to Craig and Duane for always being there when we need them. It follows: "I am emailing on behalf of our resident whose power chair you fixed today. Due to his condition, his chair represents so much more than mobility; it is his ticket to (semi) independent living and even more importantly, a dignified life. What caused his chair to malfunction is not important. What is important is his smile and gratitude towards the maintenance crew who knows what they are doing "who were on the ball and fixed my chair right away." He wanted me to pass on his exuberant gratitude and thanks. I realize you guys are called everywhere all day long and it is a challenge to say the least to get to things right away, (everybody's request is urgent to them). Yet my experience with you has always been one that the residents of Harmony Manor are not just another "ticket in the system"; rather, you make every effort to make them and their comfort and, in this case independence and dignity, a priority. Our resident thanks you and I thank you for going above and beyond. Truly it is a team effort that Harmony Manor is a 5 star facility. Your contribution today is exemplary of that fact. --Robin Gillis RN., RAC-CT, SNF Nurse Manager
