Humboldt General Hospital's Diabetes Support Group will discuss "Deciphering
Diabetes Lab Results" next Wednesday.
The group will meet from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, in the
hospital's Sonoma conference room; Humboldt General Hospital Director
of Nutrition and Dietary Services Tiffani Nalivka will lead the evening's
Diabetics, pre-diabetics, caregivers and those who are interested in preventing
diabetes are invited to attend.
Nalivka said laboratory results can be puzzling at best and downright perplexing at worst.
"But knowing what the results mean, and how often we need to see our
doctor will not only help us keep our diabetes in check, but will also
help us feel empowered and confident," said Nalivka.
Nalivka said the group provides a casual setting where participants can
ask questions and get information relative to their personal situation.
"With the help of many experts, we are able to deliver some very powerful
education, and that education will help curb the serious and widespread
impact of this disease process," she said.
