Cooking at home beats fast food any day for its nutritional value, lower
calories and cost savings.
“But after a long and hot day, turning on that stove might be the
last thing you want to do,” said Humboldt General Hospital Wellness
Coordinator Billie Lucero.
“So you’re going to need some motivational tips—and that’s
what we’re going to provide.”
Next Thursday, Lucero will discuss quick and healthy cooking as part of
the next installment of Humboldt General Hospital’s 2015 “Healthy
Year, Healthy You” seminar series.
“Cooking Quick & Healthy” will take place from noon to
1 p.m. Thursday, August 20, in the Sarah Winnemucca Conference Room. There
is no charge to attend, and lunch will be served.
August’s seminar continues a year-long series of “Healthy Year,
Healthy You” presentations aimed at helping local residents achieve
a greater state of wellness.
Presentations are usually held from noon to 1 p.m. on the third Thursday
of each month. There is never a charge to attend and lunch is always served.
