Water and good health will be the focus of an upcoming presentation at
Humboldt General Hospital.
“Your body depends on water to survive,” said HGH Wellness
Coordinator Billie Lucero. “Every cell, tissue, and organ in your
body needs water to work correctly.”
Lucero continued, “Water makes up about two thirds of who we are,
and influences 100 percent of the processes in our body. That probably
explains why we feel better when we’re drinking enough of it.”
Next Thursday, Lucero will discuss water and good health as part of the
next installment of Humboldt General Hospital’s 2015 “Healthy
Year, Healthy You” seminar series.
“Stay Healthy, Stay Hydrated” will take place from noon to
1 p.m. Thursday, June 25, in the Sonoma Conference Room. There is no charge
to attend, and lunch will be served.
Lucero will discuss the many benefits of water, from aiding digestion,
to spurring weight loss, promoting youthfulness and increasing energy.
“Water even impacts our ability to fight disease,” she said.
June’s seminar continues a year-long series of “Healthy Year,
Healthy You” presentations aimed at helping local residents achieve
a greater state of wellness.
Presentations are usually held from noon to 1 p.m. on the third Thursday
of each month. There is never a charge to attend and lunch is always served.
