Behavioral health

A mental health condition can rob you of your joy and your ability to live your best life. At the Humboldt General Hospital Behavioral Health Clinic, we want you to know that you can get the mental health care you deserve, either in person at our clinic in Winnemucca or through a virtual counseling visit.

Our team treats a wide range of mental health conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

Whether you're looking for a mental health screening, need help adjusting to stressful life changes, or are new to the area and need to establish regular psychiatric care, we can help.

Our mental health services and experts

HGH offers a range of behavioral health services for children and adults. These include:

Outpatient counseling. A mental health counselor can help you learn to cope with difficult emotions and challenges you may be dealing with, from stress to panic attacks. Our counseling services are led by a licensed clinical social worker.

Online therapy. We would love to see you in our clinic. But if that’s not possible, we can offer you online counseling services, or telemedicine, over your computer or smartphone.

Telehealth psychiatry. If you’re looking for a psychiatrist, a specialist is just a Zoom call away. Our team includes a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Our psychiatry specialists can conduct mental health testing, prescribe medications, and help with medication management.

Our client-centered approach at our mental health clinic

At your first visit to the HGH Behavioral Health Clinic, our team will take the time to get to know you. We’re good listeners. We want to know how we can help you.

Next, we may offer you a treatment plan that fits your individual needs. We believe in client-centered care. That means we help you return to a fulfilling and productive life by meeting the goals you want to achieve. We’ll help you keep your eyes on your goals with a treatment plan that measures your progress.
