Long-term care

Choosing a skilled nursing care facility for yourself or your loved one is a big decision. We can help you find a home and people you can trust.

You can get the highest quality care close to home, right here in Winnemucca, at Humboldt General Hospital.

At both of our facilities—Harmony Manor Skilled Nursing and Residential Care Community—we offer care when people cannot live independently, either for short-term or long-term stays.

We also have an adjacent unit, Quail Corner Life Enrichment Community, that provides memory care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Why choose our skilled nursing facility

There are many great reasons to choose us for long-term care or memory care, including our:

Resident-centered care. This starts with our dedicated staff, many of whom have worked here for many years. Our team includes a medical director, highly skilled nurses, a social worker, and an activities coordinator, to mention just a few. You will not find a better team of caregivers. Each member of our staff genuinely cares about our residents. Families tell us that they trust us with their loved ones—and that makes our staff immensely proud.

We have a high staff-to-resident ratio, which means residents get the personalized care and attention they deserve.

Location. Being in Winnemucca means that your loved one stays closer to you. There is no need to drive back and forth to Reno for family visits.

Easy access to medical services. In addition to 24-hour skilled nursing, many medical specialists you or your loved one might require are close by at Humboldt General Hospital. That is true whether you or your loved one needs a routine medical visit or requires emergency care.

Therapy services. Our physical, occupational, and speech therapists help people with rehabilitation needs, including those who have recently had surgery and those who are recovering from an illness, such as a stroke.

Facilities. Our residents live in spacious, furnished rooms. They are encouraged to bring items from home, so their rooms feel more homelike. Our many amenities include a dayroom for group activities, a salon, a conference room nearby in the hospital for family gatherings, and a large patio where residents grow vegetables or relax.

Families and residents alike appreciate the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities.

Activities. We take pride in offering a wide variety of activities to our residents, including community outings and picnics, arts and crafts, games such as bingo, music, cooking, entertainment, pet therapy, barbecues, and worship services.

Quail Corner memory care

Located next door to Harmony Manor, the eight-room Quail Corner Life Enrichment Community caters to residents living with dementia and other types of progressive impairment.

Just like in Harmony Manor, highly trained nurses in our memory care community provide safe, secure, resident-centered care. Residents enjoy activities such as exercise, music, and bingo.

Families tell us they love that we take the time to get to know our residents and that we communicate well with them about their loved ones.
