Childbirth Education
Childbirth Education Classes
Humboldt General Hospital hosts a Childbirth Education course designed
to help mothers-to-be achieve the kind of birth they desire. Women in
their fifth to eighth month of pregnancy are encouraged to attend. Childbirth
Education instructor Becky Egbert will lead the discussion. Mothers and
coaches are encouraged to bring a couple of pillows and wear comfortable
clothing for the instruction. Lunch and snacks are provided by Humboldt
General Hospital. Due to the importance of this course, there is no fee
to participate. Optional Lactation and Newborn Care classes are also available.
Lactation Classes
Learn from our lactation educator, Becky Egbert, about the natural process
of breastfeeding, lactation, physiology of the breast, positioning, identification
of infant feeding cues, nutrition and storage of breast milk. Please bring
a doll or stuffed animal. Due to the importance of this course, there

Newborn Care Classes
Join Childbirth Education instructor Becky Egbert as she discusses what
to do after the baby is born. This class will cover feeding, sleeping,
diapering, circumcision and umbilical cord care, bathing and dressing.
Parents-to-be also will learn about temperament, crying and comforting
techniques, behavior states and newborn communication. Husbands/fathers/coaches
are welcome to attend. Due to the importance of this course, there is
